Okie Housewife Triple Digit Survival Tips

So, yesterday was officially the hottest day of the year (or decade...or whatever).  Some of our local meteorologists said they had never forcasted actual temps that high...116 to be exact.  I think I just worked up some sweat typing that out.  And it is NOT "perspiring"...it's SWEATING.  Trust me.  There is nothing girly about our trip digit temps.

Good hair days?  Forget about them!

Make-up?  No use.  It'll just melt right off your face.

Cute clothes?  Don't waste your time.  They'll be wrinkled and sweaty in all the right (or wrong) places by the time you get where you're going.

Side note:  I googled "hotter than h*ll" images and this is what it gave me...I kid you not!

I can not lie!  I mean I can, but I'm not, 'cause we all know where you go for that. *achem*

Now where was I?  Oh, yes.  In an effort to survive these hotter-that-hades temperatures, I've come up with a few tips and tricks.

Here's my Okie Housewife Triple Digit Temp Survival Tips:
  1. Whatever you do, DO NOT cook.  Tell your hubby that you're conserving energy and you're trying not to run up the electric bill.  He'll appreciate your efforts.
  2. Use the money you're saving from not cooking to buy take-out.
  3. Sleep nude.  Warning:  This could result in a baby boom around May next year.
  4. Store your bras in the freezer.
  5. While you're at it, store your undies in the freezer.
  6. Let the kids "swim" in the bathtub...this kills two birds with one stone.
  7. If you need to, tell the kids that Nick Jr. and Disney are on strike...this should buy you at least a few hours of kid-free television time.  And discussing the term "strike" will be educational.  <---look at you being an overachiever!
  8. Take a field trip to your local shaved ice establishment.  When you return home, turn that baby into an adult "beverage".
  9. Let the kids have ice cream for breakfast.  It's a dairy product.  Totally nutritional.
  10. Last but not least, think about that ice storm/blizzard we had earlier this year.  You know the one where we were snowed in for days, had three feet of ice on our houses and cars, and all the stores ran out of milk and bread.  Yeah, well December will be here before you know it.
Stay kool.

Where Did The Summer Go?

Seriously, y'all?! It's almost the end of July??  How the heck did that happen?

My little boy started back to Football Monday night, which is our cue that school is just around the corner!

I don't know about you, but I'm not ready.  I'm not ready for schedules, early bedtimes, or homework.  I need a few more weeks of summer!  All of the school supplies in the isle at Wal-Mart are freaking me out!

Does it seem like summer break gets shorter and shorter?

Or are you counting down the days until your kiddos are back in school?

Any last minute summer plans?

The RHOK

*AAaaaaaaCHoooooooo*

I'm sitting here with tissues stuck up my nose so it doesn't drip on the keyboard.

I think I'm paying for all the fun I had this weekend.

Mrs. Hart told you guys yesterday that 5 of us housewives partied like it was 1989 at the NKOTBSB concert on Sunday night.

There were a couple of housewives who didn't know NKOTB from BSB...but I won't mention any names...*achem*mrsalbright*achem*mrspriss*achem*

Joey sang to me.
I proposed.

I also had a GNO on Friday night and hung out with Impulsive Addict on Saturday night.  I don't think I'm conditioned for that kind of nightlife. (<----this does NOT mean I'm old, so shut up...I know what you were thinking.)

I'm going to replace my tissues in my nose and drug up before bed.

Who gave the OK for head colds in the dead of summer?  They should be fired.

What have you been up to?

Tell us what's up in YOUR neck of the woods!

You know the drill...grab the button, write your post, and come back by to link up!

...who partied like one and is paying for it...AAAAaaaaachhhooooo.

Whatcha Reading?

I was browsing through my old posts on my personal blog looking for ANY kind of inspiration for what to post here at the RHOK today.

What?! I'm lazy and uninspired right now.  So, sue me!

Anyhoo, something that caught my eye was that the last two summers I've been on a book release countdown.  Summer of 2009 I was waiting on Catching Fire (2nd book of the Hunger Games Trilogy) and the Summer of 2010 I was waiting on The Mockingjay (3rd book of the Hunger Games Trilogy).

It made me a little sad.  I wish I had a book I was anxiously anticipating right now.  <---I'm such a nerd like that.

However, I thought back to a convo some of us housewives were having on Facebook not too long ago and remembered that there were several people who had STILL NOT read The Hunger Games Trilogy.

So, my question for you is...Have YOU read The Hunger Games Trilogy??

If not, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?! <---yeah, I went there...used all caps on you.

Let me tell you, I fell in love with this trilogy back in 2008. I had finished the Twilight Saga and I was desperately searching for something to fill the void. Steph Meyer mentioned on her website that she had just read The Hunger Games...and it was one of those books that you "take to dinner and read under the table."That was enough for me to run out and buy it that day.

I read the first book in two nights...and I had to wait almost a WHOLE year for Catching Fire, which I turned around and read in ONE DAY.  Then, I waited another year for Mockingjay and devoured it in 2 days.

Also, if you have read and loved The Hunger Games, you should give James Dashner's Trilogy a try.  The first book is titled The Maze Runner and the second book is titled The Scorch Trials.  The third and final book is titled The Death Cure and will be out in October.  I really loved these books!  I know they don't sound very girly or romantic, but there is a love story intertwined into the plot.  You know I have to have a little romance!  If you liked the dystopian society of The Hunger Games, you'll love The Maze Runner.  It has a lot of the same characteristics as HG...survival, standing up for what is right, being a rebel.  I highly recommend.

The Hunger Games movie will be out in March 2012!!  *squeeee* <---already fangirling

I think I see some more (non-Twilight) premiere parties in my future!

What books are you reading this summer?

The Heartland Flyer - Summer Travel Ideas

So, summer is here.  School is out.  The kids are ALREADY bored.  You're locking yourself in closets and bathrooms...

Don't look at me like that.  You know it's true.

Last year, about this time.  My big ol' crazy family hopped on the Heartland Flyer and headed south.  We were just looking for a short trip to break up the summer and help cure a little boredom.  We got what we were looking for!

I had no idea how much fun (and surprisingly relaxing) it would be!

On Saturday morning, we drove to Norman and caught the train there.  This was our first experience on a long distance train ride and let me tell you, it is the WAY to go!  We had 9 people in our group and you couldn't ask for better traveling conditions.

People can go to the bathroom when they want (NO bathroom breaks) and as frequently as they want.  There is a snack car (NO food breaks) that sells sandwiches, snacks, drinks, and sundries...and tiny bottles of *achem* pop. *wink, wink*

The seats are roomy and comfortable...they even have 120v plug-ins!  We were only on the train for about 3 1/2 hours and it went by so fast.  Everyone, even my paranoid cousin (who had to take a Valium), said they had a great time.

"Picnik Show"                                                Create a free slideshow with Picnik!

This was just the beginning to a fabulous fun weekend.   The Dallas/Fort Worth area has so much to offer in the way of entertainment. We took in a Rangers/Cubs baseball game and shopped in Sundance Square. We also enjoyed some YUMMYLICIOUS food. One of our fav stops was at Riscky's BBQ in Sundance Square! Mmmmm. So good.

Have you been on a train ride?  Where to? Did you enjoy it?

~Mrs. Edwards

...who's thinking it's about time for a little weekend trip...and some tiny bottles...of pop, of course.

Housewives Workout Too

I don't know about you guys, but with summer officially making itself known in Oklahoma, I'm stressing OUT. Seriously.

It's hott as hel...an oven, which requires short sleeves and short pants (also known as shorts).

However, I feel totally unprepared. My skin is pasty white. I wish everyone thought it was cool to be a whitie. I mean, it's cool for the Cullens. Why can't it be cool for everyone else? Don't they kinda set the standard?

I guess not EVERYONE lives in my world.

But it's not just my pasty white skin. It's also the flabbiness. My arms give the double wave. You know what I'm talking about. You wave and your upper arm waves back. Yeah, so NOT attractive.

Well, no worries. I've found the perfect exercise video for this problem area.

If you don't have a baby laying around, I'm sure you can grab some canned goods or a bag of flour or something.

Y'all let me know if you get any good results with this.  What is your favorite exercise?  Have you found a tried-and-true way of getting rid of the "double wave"?  Do share!

Locate Your Nearest Twihard

After last week's post, with the Breaking Dawn PART 1 Trailer (click HERE, if you didn't see it), it came to my attention that not everyone knows as much about The Saga as I do.

*GASPS*

I know shock and awe, right?...shock...and...awe.

So, I thought it would be fun to address any questions you might be having pertaining to The Twilight Saga...the final two movies, the books, the cast, etc.

I'm the local Twihard and I'm at your service.

Anything you've been wondering...or anything worrying your pretty little head?? Just ask and I'll answer them in the comments.  If there are some interesting questions, I'll compile a list and post them with links next week on my scheduled blogging day here at The RHOK.

Remember, the only stupid question is the one you never ask.

Believe me people, if you're thinking it...I've already thought it.  My brain lives in Twitardia.

In Your Neck Of The Woods

It's that time of the week...

Time to show us what's happening in YOUR neck of the woods!!

And since I'm the resident Twihard, I'm gonna show you what I've been watching for pretty much that last 24-36 hours (depending on when you read this).

*SQUEEEEEEEE* <-----that's me fangirling.

The Urban Dictionary defines "fangirling" as:
the reaction a fangirl has to any mention or sighting of the object of her "affection" *achem*robpattinson*achem. These reactions include shortness of breath, fainting, highpitched noises, shaking, fierce head shaking as if in the midst of a seizure, wet panties, endless blog posts, etc.

Yep, that pretty much sums me up.

**********
C'mon, I know there is something interesting, funny, ridiculous, or just down right absurd that you're just dying to show us, right?  Right?  Hello?

**********
It's easy-peasy to play along...
1. Answer the question on your blog (or in the comments sections if you haven't a blog).
2. If you answer the question on your blog, add your name and direct link.
3. Grab our button from the sidebar and post it either in your reply post or on your blog sidebar.

My Mother Is On Facebook

Hello, Lovelies! Happy Friday!

I'm actually not in our great state of Oklahoma today. I'm off on a girls' weekend in Austin. So, I'm going to leave you with a post from my archives.

Enjoy!

So, if you haven't heard, my mother is on Facebook.

Yep, she's found social networking.

This should be a proud moment for a tech savvy daughter, but truthfully, it freaks me out.

Why?  You might ask.

Have you seen the way old older older-ish people use Facebook?

I'm not saying that my mom has made Facebook faux pas...not many, not yet.  It just gets me thinking about all the faux pas I have seen and I get worried. (Mom, if you're reading this, you're doing fine.  Just remember what we've discussed.  Stick to the plan.  Do not divert.  I repeat, do not divert.)

Don't misunderstand me. I'm for people of all ages using social networking, but for the love of all things holy, they need to learn how to do so in a correct manner.

Here's just a few things that come to mind...

Social Networking Guidelines for Baby Boomers and Beyond:

1. Do not...I repeat, DO NOT change your relationship status to "it's complicated" because you had a spat this morning over whether you were having cream of wheat or oatmeal for breakfast. That doesn't qualify. Also, just because you're single and you want to stay that way, it's also not a good idea to say "it's complicated". You'll have half of Facebook speculating about who you've been shacking up with.

Lesson #1 - Leave no room for speculation.

2. When it says "interested in men, women, etc.", it's not a good time to say "either or both"...unless your gay, lesbian, or bisexual. By "interested" it means sexually. I know this is a shocker for you, but please adapt.

3. It is not kosher to address specific people in your status updates. That is what people's personal walls are for. Example : "Jane, it is so nice to finally get back in touch with you after all these years. This new age technology is pretty nifty. How are your kids? And Stan? Did he ever cheat on you again with that whore...what was her name?" Now, say you just posted that in your status update...everyone you are friends with just read that.

You see how ugly this could get right?

Another example of an INAPPROPRIATE status update: "Dick, I had an amazing night last night. You're the best I've ever had. You can park your boots under my bed anytime you want. Are you busy tonight?"

Not OK.   Everyone just read that.  Unless you are hookin' it for a living, I suggest you keep your bedroom business out of your status updates.

Lesson #2 - When in doubt, just send a personal message.

5. Do not try to use text lingo, especially if you do not know what you're saying. (Family Shout-Out:  Hey, Aunt V, it's L-O-L...not L-O...and it's not OK to say it like it's spelled when you're talking to people, especially when you say it wrong. Oh, and Mom...LOL means "laugh out loud", not "lots of love". Now you see why Uncle J was a little peeved when you responded to his disturbing news with "LOL". It wasn't funny. You shouldn't have been LOLing, even though you were lots-of-loving.

Lesson #3 - Do not try to talk like a teenager, it just doesn't work for you.

6. Do us all a favor and turn your chat box to "offline".  Most people are there just to leave an update, be nosey for a minute, and then get back to their regularly scheduled business.  Your kids will "defriend" you, if you keep this up.

7. Above all else, do not take Facebook so seriously. If someone posts "I just don't understand life", it probably doesn't mean that they're suicidal.  More than likely, the movie they wanted from RedBox was already rented.  Hold off on calling the suicide hotline.

I reserve the right to make amendments and additions to this list at any moment, without further notice.

Now, don't go thinkin' that I'm talkin' about you...I'm sure you're doing good.  HOWEVER, if you have any second thoughts, just refer to the list above!

This is just in fun, y'all!  (That's right Mom...just pokin' a little fun.  Don't be so serious.  See #7)

Much love,
Mrs. Edwards

The RHOK Reads : Pioneer Woman - Ch. 1-5

The RHOK

This week, we were reading Black Heels to Tractor Wheels chapters 1-5.

So, what do you think so far?

I'm LOVING it!  I have to tell you that I've been preoccupied by a few other books this past week, but I stopped to read BHTW and I'm in love.  The way Ree tells the story is so captivating...just like her blog.  I feel like we're BFFs and she's telling the all the juicy details of her dates.

You guys feel free to tell me any of the juicy details of your dates.  I'm a good listener.  I love juicy details.

I think my favorite part of the book so far is in Chapter 4.  Ree got lost on the country roads after leaving MMs house after a date.  She was so caught up in her thoughts that she couldn't find her way back to the main road.  So, she gives in and calls MM.  Of course he comes to her rescue.  After leading her to the highway...he stops his truck and gets out...

Then this is it...my favorite part and I quote...

"He didn't say anything at all.  He opened my car door, pulled me out of the car, and kissed me as I'd never been kissed before."

If you did not S-W-O-O-N when you read that, you should check your pulse...you might be dead.

Plausible Questions/Writing Prompts for this week:

  • While reading the first chapter, and reading about all of Ree's exes, could you identify with any of them...have you had a J or a Mr. B or a Kev in your life?
  • Anything surprising you learned about Ree?
  • How would you have handled ex-boyfriend, J?
  • Ever experienced that strong of an emotional pull from someone you just met?
  • Do you believe in "love at first sight"?
  • Tell us about a past dating experience.

Feel free to answer one or all of these questions in a post on your own blog!  Grab our snazzy button (Thanks, Mrs. Sinclair!) and link up with us today!

For next week, we're going to read the rest of Part 1, chapters 6-9.

I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts, comments, and feedback!

Mrs. Edwards,
smitten by the Marlboro Man

Thursday

The RHOK Reads - Pioneer Woman - Week 1

Hello, fellow RHOKstars...and readers!
The RHOK Reads

Hopefully everyone has picked up their very own copy of Black Heels to Tractor Wheels by Ree Drummond, aka The Pioneer Woman...PW...PDub.

If you haven't bought, downloaded, or checked-out your book, don't panic.  You still have time!  We're going to start this week reading chapters 1-5.  So, you still have time to get your book and start reading!

You know what is SO COOL about Ree?  Besides the fact that she is THE Pioneer Woman...and she's beautiful...and funny...and uber cool?  She's a blogger.  I think it's something that the majority of us can identify with.  The beginnings of this book started on her blog as weekly installments chronicalling her love story with the Marlboro Man.  Some of you who are long time followers probably remember reading some of these stories on-line at ThePioneerWoman.com

Your assignment for the next week is simple.  Just read the first 5 chapters.  That'll get us half way through Part 1.  I think it'll be a breeze.  Ree's writing is so easy to read...it's just flows so naturally.  Next week, we'll post some discussion questions over the first 5 chapters.  You'll be able to discuss them with us in the comments or create a post of your own discussing the chapters.  We'll have our snazzy button up that you can grab...it'll be fun!

Remember for every time you comment or post during our RHOK Reads posts, you'll be entered in a Pioneer Woman giveaway, that will include a PW Cookbook among other things!

Also, if you have questions you'd like to submit for discussion, shoot us an email and we'll include them in the next week's blog post (giving you a shout-out, of course).

We love crowd participation!

First 5 chapters...GO!

Happy Reading,
Mrs. Edwards

The RHOK Reads

The Real Housewives of Oklahoma

Yep, you read that right.  We read.
We're hoping that you do too, or that you would at least be willing to read a little with us!  We're going to start a little blogging book club titled "The RHOK Reads".  I'm not sure if this will be a monthly meme or just an every-once-in-a-while thing, but one thing I know for sure is that it's going to be fun!!  Swearsies.
For our inaugural book, we've chosen none other than the The Pioneer Woman's novel, Black Heels to Tractor Wheels.  It is Ree's account of how she went from a city-girl to a country-girl in rural Oklahoma.  She's a wife, mom, housewife, amazing cook, baker, blogger, and now author of a best-selling book!

Synopsis (from B&N website)

"That's when I saw him—the cowboy—across the smoky room."
"I'll never forget that night. It was like a romance novel, an old Broadway musical, and a John Wayne western rolled into one. Out for a quick drink with friends, I wasn't looking to meet anyone, let alone a tall, rugged cowboy who lived on a cattle ranch miles away from my cultured, corporate hometown. But before I knew it, I'd been struck with a lightning bolt . . . and I was completely powerless to stop it.
Read along as I recount the rip-roaring details of my unlikely romance with a chaps-wearing cowboy, from the early days of our courtship (complete with cows, horses, prairie fire, and passion) all the way through the first year of our marriage, which would be filled with more challenge and strife—and manure—than I ever could have expected.
This isn't just my love story; it's a universal tale of passion, romance, and all-encompassing love that sweeps us off our feet.
It's the story of a cowboy.
And Wranglers.
And chaps.
And the girl who fell in love with them."

Doesn't that sound super romantic?!  I can't wait to start reading!

Mrs. Albright, Mrs. Montgomery, and some other RHOKers went to the recent book signing at the Mayo Hotel.  You can read about that in yesterday's post!

We'll start reading next Thursday (March 31), so that gives you a whole week to find your book (or download it)!  I've seen it at Super Target and Barnes and Noble.  You can also purchase it on Amazon.com (Black Heels to Tractor Wheels - click the title).

Each week we'll assign a certain number of chapters and there will be some discussion questions you can ponder while you're reading and come back here and chit-chat with us about them.  You can even snag our button and write your own post as we read (or as a final review).  We'll open up a McLinky each week for you to link up with.

As an incentive, each time you comment on The RHOK Reads posts and/or link up with your own post, you'll be entered in a Pioneer Woman Giveaway!  I'm not sure what will be included, because I'm just flying by the seat of my pants here, but it'll be great.  Promise!

I'm really looking forward to reading with you guys! (because I'm totally geeky like that)

~Mrs. Edwards

Monday

McLinky Monday - Who Am I?

The RHOK

So, who are you?

Not like in a philosophical sense...

Not like what's your name or your occupation...

or whether you're a mom or dad...or a wife or husband.

I'm talking about who are you as a blogger.

Have you ever looked at your blogging stats?  Well, let me tell you, they are a wealth of information.  You can find out how many views your blog has in a day (a week, a month, etc.), the most viewed posts, and traffic sources.

I find that last one very interesting.

If you go to your "Stats" tab (from your Blogger Dashboard, if you use Blogger.  I'm not sure how to do this from Wordpress or other formats), you can click on "Traffic Sources" and down at the bottom it will give you the top ten "Search Keywords"...top 10 keywords that bring people to your blog.

For instance, here are the top ten words from our RHOK blog:

1.   real housewives of oklahoma 285 (nice to know we're making a name for ourselves!)
2.   tow truck 121 (because "tow truck" is so synonymous with "housewife")
3.   housewives 46 (much better)
4.   garage door makeover 44
5.   the real housewives of oklahoma 42 (yep, that's us!)
6.   cars tow truck 37 (don't you think of the RHOK when you think of tow trucks?)
7.   real housewives 29 (REAL housewives...not fake ones)
8.   real housewives costume 26 (REAL housewives who wear costumes)
9.   housewives of oklahoma 19 (and yes, we live in Oklahoma)
10. bubies 16 (is this bubies or babies or boobies?...what's bubies?)

It's kind of interesting, huh?

I think it helps us know what our readers want...what they visit our page looking for.  Apparently, here at the RHOK we just need to keep talking about ourselves...and tow trucks...and "bubies".  OK, so it may not be an accurate account of your viewership, but it's still fun to look at!

So, what's your top ten??

Also, tell us what your most viewed post is!  Maybe we missed it?!  If it's the one that people have read the most, we NEED to read it too!  So, link that baby up!

(FYI - just go back to your "Stats" tab...then to "Posts"...be sure you've clicked on "all time" and there at the top will be your most viewed post)

The most viewed post here at The RHOK was brought to us by Mrs. Nesbitt, who is a retired Housewife...it's titled Wisdom (by way of a cartoon tow truck)...yep, we have her to thank for all of those people who search "tow truck" and end up at The RHOK! {click title to read post}

You know the drill...

Wanna Look Like A Swimsuit Model?

So, do you wanna look like a Sports Illustrated swimsuit model??

Well, according to an article I recently read on Shine, all you've gotta do is follow these 5 steps...
(my comments are in BLUE)

1. Combine Cardio and Weight Training
Supposedly, you're supposed to do a little of both...every day.

I know, I know.  Sounds crazy.

2. Don’t Forget About Food
It said something about limiting junk food and increasing good, healthy nutritional food. Oh, and it said you should be burning more calories than you're consuming.

Sounds ludacris, if you ask me.

3. Ab-Trimming Foods
The article stated that you should consume foods that digest easily and helps "clear out the system", such as high fiber foods, vegetables, and probiotics.
So, it looks like large fries and venti mochas are out.

4. Hydrate Your Skin from the Outside!
Your skin eats too. What you slather on it matters.

Who knew?!

5. Hydrate Your Skin from the Inside!
H2O...in large quantities.

Plus, you can look at all the bathroom trips as added exercise!  It's a win-win!

Yep, just follow those steps and you'll look like this...
She even made a little exercise video for us...

So, we should all be looking like swimsuit models in no time!

I'll expect a swimsuit picture of each and everyone of you posted to your blog no later than June 1st.

I kid.
What have you been doing to get swimsuit ready (or summer clothes ready, if swimsuits don't apply)?

Mrs. Edwards

...who is NOT a Swimsuit Model...yet.

Did You Know?

Did you know that a few of us here at The RHOK were teachers in our former lives?

It's true.

So, we might tell you to talk with your inside voice, or use your quiet feet.

We apologize in advance.  It's just out of habit.

Teacher's are so important...not just because we were once, but they truly help shape the lives of our children.

In my opinion, teaching should be one of the highest paid salaries.  I mean, they are with our children more than we are during the week.  They kiss boo-boos, give hugs, and teach our children morals and values.  They are responsible for educating the future doctors, lawyers, scientist, famous authors, actors, and even Presidents...but they make a fraction of what those professions pay.  It just doesn't seem right, does it?

Thinking back, who was your favorite teacher in school?  What made them so special?

Also, feel free to write or tell us about an exceptional teacher your child has had.

Hot Commodity

Free time.

You know...Free time...a quiet moment, when you lock yourself in the bathroom...or lock the kids in the closet.

Free time.

I know, you're looking at me like I just spoke a foreign language.

As moms and wives (and even dads and husbands), we don't get much of it and we all probably would love to have more.

Am I right?

It's a hot commodity.

So, those rare beautiful moments, when you actually have peace and quiet, what do you do?

What I want is a day to myself to just sit with a cup of coffee in my hand...

and my nose in a book...er, my Kindle.

I kind of daydream about it.  It would be a day where I wouldn't feel guilty for not cleaning the house or doing something responsible.  I wouldn't have anywhere I was supposed to be.  It would just be me and my Kindle...and that cup of coffee.

How often do you get free time?  What do you do with it when you get it?

-Mrs. Edwards

We RHOKed The Full Moon

I know you have been dying to see pictures from the RHOK Out.  It's probably been keeping you from all of your wifely (or husbandly) duties.  So, I'm here to help you out!  You can thank me later.

Last Friday night, we invaded the Full Moon.  The Full Moon is a local T-Town restaurant, known for their Tortilla Soup, dueling piano bar...and drunken crazy people singing off pitch to songs like "You Shook Me All Night Long" and a bad bad rendition of Def Leppard's "Pour Some Sugar On Me".  The Housewives danced to a unique version of the hokey pokey.  It is all kinds of fun...and crazy.

Enough of my chitter chatter.

Sit back and scroll...

Now I'd like to direct your attention to the video below.  I'm pleased to introduce you to our newest Housewife and a future housewife...

Our future is looking bright.

We hope you all come and join us at our next RHOK Out.  One thing is for sure, we know how to have a good time!

If you have pictures from the RHOK Out @ Full Moon, please write up a post on your blog and stop back by and link up below!

BONUS:  If you can identify this fine looking butt below, I'll gift you something awesome.  That's right.  If you can tell me who this tush belongs to, you'll receive a very nice parting gift (think gift card, free RHOK shirt, an autograph of the owner of this lovely derriere...something awesome).  I need to know which Housewife it belongs to.  The first commenter to get it right is the winner.  I'll get with you and determine the gift...and get it in the mail to you ASAP.

McLinky Monday - 10 Things You Can't Live Without

Today on McLinky Monday, I would like to know what 10 things you absolutely can't (or at least wouldn't want to) live without and why.

I'm talking things...not people, your family, kids, the pope, etc.blah.blah.blah.

I'll show you mine, if you'll show me yours.

1. Starbucks.  "What is your drug of choice?  Starbucks for 1000, Alex."

2. Books are one of my top favorite things and my Kindle is my newest method of reading.  I love it.  What a dull, boring, black and white world this would be without books. I told a friend the other day that I'm such a daydreamer and books give me something to daydream about. They fuel my imagination. They're educational...OK OK, I'm probably not getting much smarter from the material I'm reading.  I'm learning things about sparkly vampires and how to survive in the Hunger Games...and that I want Katniss to be my BFF.  BUT, they are an escape from reality and don't we all need an escape from reality from time to time?!

3. iPhone...hello! What did I do without this device? I mean what other thing can you talk, text, e-mail, look up a recipe, watch a movie, listen to music, check the weather, read Pop Sugar, check your facebook page, post a twit/twat/tweet, get directions to Japan, reserve a movie at Redbox, find a restaurant, make a list, post a blog, read a book, play a game, get angry at birds, and surf the internet on? That's really just scratching the surface of all the things it's capable of. I ♥ my iPhone.

Impulsive, did you find that number for iPhone Anonymous?

4. My Camera. It goes everywhere with me.

5. Clinique Almost Lipstick in Black Honey is my favorite lipstick. I've worn it since I was 16 years old. If they ever quit making it, I'll freak out.  For reals. It goes on so smooth and it's the perfect shade. It goes with almost everything. I love it!

6. Twilight/Edward/Rob...I'm grouping them together, because this is my list and I can do whatever I want.  I know this may sound crazy, but now that I know about Edward, I wouldn't want to live without him. I think Stephenie Meyer is one of the coolest people on earth. Her dreams and imagination are what brought Edward and Bella into existence. I'm a hopeless romantic, and so the idea that the impossible love is possible after all...well, I think it's wonderful.  Is that the most freakin' sappiest answer you've ever heard??  Geez.  OK, the idea of Edward is hott hott hott, and I was in love with him before a famous face was ever assigned to play him.  But truthfully I'm head-over-heals for Rob.  I guess I should be thankful to Steph for dreaming up Edward...Summitt for picking up the books to make them into movies...Summitt again for picking Cathy Hardy for the director...Cathy Hardy for casting KStew as Bella...and KStew for having chemistry with Rob.

Oh, and I would also like to add Pocket Edward...my many Pocket Edwards.  I usually have at least one accompanying me at all times.

7. GNOs help my sanity.
Before making out with Pocket Momma on our last outting, Pocket Edward made out with a cupcake.
There's no judgement here.
8. Proactive.  It keeps my puberty-style acne in check.

9. Blogger. I love it.  It's good.  It makes me happy.  I have a small captive audience.

10. Gossip magazines. Occasionally, my BFFs forget to text me and give me the 411, so I have to stalk them keep up with them through gossip mags.  Rob will drop me subliminal messages every once in a while.  It's fun to see them in real life situations. I do feel sorry for them at times. I wouldn't want my life to be so public, but they're so gosh darn entertaining. Instead of grabbing a Snickers or M&Ms while waiting to checkout at Hell-Mart, I'll grab a People or US...it's my treat.  I can't leave without one...or two.

So, what are 10 things you can't (or wouldn't want to) live without?

You know the drill...

The Great Kid Debate

We've been having a great debate around the Edward's house lately.  I like to call it The Great Kid Debate.  It seems as though everyone from my third uncle to my son thinks that we need an addition to our family.  I think the subject is on every one's mind due to the fact that we're currently adding onto our house.  I guess more bedrooms = more kids or something.  If I would have known about this phenomenon prior to construction, I might have reconsidered.  OK, probably not, but you know.

Now, I'm feeling like I'm part of some sort of conspiracy.

The truth is that I'm freaking out a little.  We got pregnant with our little boy less than a month after we moved into our house and now that we're building on, I'm a little concerned that this might happen again.

YES.  I know how that happens.

*let's pause a moment while I breathe into a paper bag*

I love kids.  I really really do.  Ask anybody.  But when it comes to me having more, I just tend to...well, I freak.  I VIVIDLY remember sleepless nights, going days without a shower, feeling like I could just sit around and cry all day, worrying about EVERYTHING...it all feels like it happened yesterday, but it wasn't.  It was seven years ago!  SEVEN YEARS.  That's when I start thinking things like, we've waited too long or what if I can't get pregnant anymore??  If I got pregnant today, our kids would be almost 8 years apart!

How many years apart are your kids?  How many years is too much?   Wouldn't it be like raising two only children?

Could I live through that?

I really need your help.

Mimi just emailed me and told me, and I quote, "I could see you having 8 kids"!  WTH?

I think they got to her too.

The one breathing into a paper bag with her head between her knees,
