The Interview

One of my favorite things to do is to interview my children.  It is unfortunate that I haven't remembered to do this annually like I intended.  Bummer.

To solve this problem, I am putting this on my calendar as an annual event.  This way I will never forget! I live by my calendar - don't you?
When my boys grow up, I might make them a little book of memories.  I'll put all of their cute little answers in it and some of their pictures, too.

Maybe they will love it, maybe they won't.
But... they'd better love it.

For those of you who are still parenting, I thought I would pass the idea along.  You might want to do this or some version of it with your own spawn.

If you have an idea to go with it or different questions to add, please let me know in the comments!  The silly questions are my favorites. I would usually ask things like: "If you were an animal, what kind would you be?" or "When you grow up what kind of parent will you be?"  Sure, they are deeper thinking questions, but for the older ones it creates another element of fun!

Here is this year's interview.  I'm going to change up the questions a bit for next year.  I was a tad lazy this year.

Mrs. Priss

Having fun by herself like...

Old.

Other than lotions and potions I buy in stores, I have no other wrinkle control.
That's right.
My name is Priss and I do not botox.
(You probably think this is obvious)

I kinda, sorta think injecting poison in your skin is going to end up causing problems later in life.
I'm in the minority on this one, and that is okay.  I'm not judging those who do botox.  I envy your beautiful smooth skin!  I just think there might be something long-term that I don't want to deal with.

I did, however, rethink my skincare regime on our recent ski trip.
Skiing in the middle of a snowstorm tends to make you cover up.
I bring you... the ski ninja!

Mrs. Priss with the ski ninja

I think with all this crap on my head I begin to look more like a cabbage patch doll than the middle-aged mom that I am.  My skin is all scrunched up under the balaclava and the goggles.  It's not pretty.

This is a balaclava, by the way.

I loaded the two-seater ski lift with my thirteen year old son and snuggled up close.  He gives me a kiss on the cheek then looks at me with rare scrutiny.

"You're getting lots of wrinkles," he says.

Don't worry.  He lived.
I actually laughed, to tell the truth.  In a bit of hopefulness, I told him maybe it was all of the gear.
He told me to smile so he could check again.

"No. That's not it.  You're getting wrinkly."
The thirteen year old boy has spoken.

Well, crud.
I'm getting old.

Never fear, however.  Miracles do happen!

Sitting on the airplane on the way home, this same thirteen year old boy starts a new inspection.
He taps me on the shoulder and says,
"Hey! The wrinkles are gone!"

Whew!
For a second there, I thought I was in trouble.
