A Glance at the Glamorous

We trust all our lovely readers had a lovely weekend full of pampering just like us.

Mrs. Montgomery feasted on hot dogs and popcorn at the baseball fields. It's a tradition since 2008.

She also got in a little crafting while she was there.
Cute Mrs. M!

Mrs. Albright had a great time with family. She was showered with gifts like hand sanitizer, and even got a Mother's Day card from the dog. The Albright family doesn't even have a dog!

She also got in some hand washing. What a weekend!

Ms. Priss has a birthday around this time. She awoke to a question from her youngest. "Is it possible for people to die on their birthday?", he asked. Later she also was lucky enough to do laundry.

Apparently they didn't give her this button in time!

But later she was treated to dinner so all is well.

Now, me, I got to watch 4 soccer games. Including 2 on Sunday.

But that's ok. The girls did get us a rose. And won the championship.

I also got a great gift, and three cards. One for Mothers Day, one for our anniversary the 25th, and one for my birthday. June 6.

Eventful, busy, and glamorous. That's how we roll.

None of us would change a thing. Except maybe the laundry.

Happy Twenty Thirteen!

Please enjoy January 1st by lounging in your pajamas and practicing writing the date over & over.

Tis The Season

It's the most wonderful time of the year - except when you are sick or injured.
We interrupt this delightful Christmas season to bring you a list of our ills and spills.

It seems like the housewives and their families are under attack.

I would call and tell you all about it but I would need my voice back first.  You might catch every third word if your hearing is decent.  I'm also beginning to think breathing is overrated.  This weather has kicked my asthma into high gear.  Right now, I'm living on Hall's cough drops, steroids and inhalers with a side of Delsym cough syrup.
Chin up, my friends, if you haven't had a Hall's cough drop in a while, the wrappers provide all sorts of inspiration with sayings like "power through it."

Mrs. Sinclair had her knee drained and her gall bladder out in the last two weeks.  She hit a new low when she had to accept help walking into the doctor's office from an elderly gentleman who drove her to the door in a golf cart.  You just can't make this stuff up.

There is a lot of this going around.

Mrs. Albright's daughter was sick on her birthday yesterday.  Her birthday party has already been rescheduled twice.

Consoled by her birthday gift - a Nintendo 3DS!

Her PJ days are coming to an end today as she returns to school. Finally!

Mrs. Hart fell down.  Between her knee and shoulder, she's feeling it still.  That's okay, the doctor got to take a peek today when she went in with a congested head.  In a yelling match, I don't know if she or I would get a word out right now.

In addition to having problems with allergies, Mrs. Montgomery's son came home with some skin missing after a PE incident.

Guess I should have warned you because that was just plain nasty.
This same child gets to go to an elbow specialist tomorrow for a previous injury.

I would like to not here that Mrs. Montgomery tried to turn the conversation over to dog poop at this point, but I did not take the bait.

Now you have seen the truth behind the scenes.  We are Christmas-ing along like the rest of you and doing our best to not let our decrepit bodies and exhausted children get us down.

Please excuse our whining and this short interruption from the merriment.

Now, let there be JOY!

You're feeling it, aren't you?

The Meeting

The writers of the RHOK have started holding monthly meetings to connect and plan.  I bet you didn't know that.  This is what last month's meeting looked like in my super messy game room.

I know what you're thinking.  You are wondering if we actually accomplish anything at these meetings.
The answer is... kinda.

Our meetings are appropriately dubbed the "RHOK Talk" because we don't have a shortage of things to say.
You are shocked.
Right?

At our April meeting, we planned some RHOK Outs for this summer and fall.
We really did.

At one point, I started taking notes when Mrs. Montgomery pointed out the absurdity of our conversations.
Keep in mind as you read on - what I'm about to share is only the portion that is appropriate to share.  The most hilarious snippet from Mrs. Hart was not bloggable.

There was some seriously funny stuff going down in the corner booth at Applebee's.

The following are snippets from our meeting.
  • Mrs. Montgomery: "Are we going to have a Mom Prom?"
  • Mrs. Montgomery (talking GCB): "Grace. Forgiveness. Mercy. You gotta PROVE it by your actions. Thank you, Jesus."
  • Mrs. Albright: "Just a good bunkin' ain't gonna do it."
  • Mrs. Montgomery: "Are we going to have a Mom Prom?"
  • Mrs. Priss: "We're gonna get shirts for $5! Oh, we don't like Gildan?"
  • Mrs. Montgomery: "Are we going to have a Mom Prom?"
  • Mrs. Montgomery to Priss: "You're a good ride."
  • Mrs. Albright to Priss: "What was that wiener taster we saw at Gordmans?"
  • Mrs. Montgomery: "Are we going to have a Mom Prom?"
  • We all bellyached over the trauma of fat-fingering our Drawing With Friends pictures while Mrs. Sinclair passed out iPhone pens for each of the housewives. PENS!
  • Mrs. Albright whined about the fact that no one was commenting on her Facebook post.
  • Mrs. Hart showed up in a hot pink Journey 4 Jugs shirt.  Discussion ensued.
  • Mrs. Albright began showing off screen shots of her extravagant pictures from Drawing With Friends.  (Someone requires a lot of attention)
  • Mrs. Priss showed Mrs. Albright the bruise on her butt.
  • Mrs. Priss showed off a picture of Mrs. Albright in a horrid outfit with camel toe that she previously promised to delete.  Priss and Albright find it hysterical that Priss - the picture taker - shows up in the picture and appears to be naked because her hair covers the strap of her shirt. I'd show you the picture, but then I'd have to kill you.
  • You will notice there are not a lot of quotes from Mrs. Sinclair and Mrs. Hart.  It's hard to quote the silent eye rolls.
  • The seersucker debate conclusion - 4 out of 5 housewives agree that boys between the ages of 3 and 70 should not be wearing seersucker.  Sorry, Mrs. Montgomery, you are just plain wrong.  Seersucker has limitations.
  • And while we are discussing Mrs. Montgomery's wrong-ness, Fort Worth is so much better than Dallas. So much better.
Be looking for invitations and updates on Facebook.  We want to see your face at our events this summer!

And did someone say MOM PROM?
Oh yes, she did.
It is going to be... (wait for it)... legend... ARY!

We are working on the details for this upcoming Fall.
It's gonna RHOK like no other!

Why I love The RHOK

When The RHOK first launched a couple of years ago, I never dreamed I'd still be a part of it today. We've had our ups and downs, but that's to be expected when a handful of women collaborate on the same blog. We've had housewives on here come and go. It's not for everyone. One thing I've learned is you have to be a team player. If you can't play on a team, collaborating on a blog is not for you. You've got to put on your big girl panties and thicken your skin. It ain't for sissies!

Over the past two years we've held RHOK Outs on a regular basis. What's a RHOK Out, you may ask? It is when we schedule an event that we invite you to attend with us. We've had some pretty fun events, if I do say so myself. Some of the events are big and some are small.... all are fun.

We've gotten to be on T.V. That was nerve-wracking and exciting. It also opened some new doors for us. Our future is looking bright.

But, I really want to share about one of our housewives in particular.... Mrs. Hart. Mrs. Hart recently won a contest on Happy First. Debbie (the housewives love Debbie) at Happy First, has the cutest "chick" t-shirts. She was running a contest on a new "chick" name. Mrs. Hart submitted a few ideas and out of all the submissions her name, Super Chick, was chosen the winner. A portion of all the proceeds goes to the charity of Mrs. Hart's choice - Turn Tulsa Pink. Mrs. Hart, the other housewives and I are sure proud of you!

Here is the news segment about Happy First and the new T-shirts. We totally think you should purchase one of these tees. It's for a great cause.

Thanks to you, we've come a long way, baby!

Mrs. Albright

who is enjoying the ride.

Hollywood Makeovers for the RHOK Stars

The RHOK Stars love makeovers. Secretly they all wish they could be REAL Hollywood Stars. Now housewives ALL over the country can, thanks to InStyle.  All you have to do is go to Hollywood Hair Virtual Makeover Salon and yes, there is an iPad App for this!

Disclosure: what you are about to see is all fun and games, no ill and scary makeovers were really made to the RHOK Stars and for proof of this you will have to join us at Louie's for Trivia Night tomorrow night at 7:30 in Jenks!

Mrs. Hart always heard that blonde's have more fun- at least Ali  Larter seemed to in  most of the movies/shows she has been in!

Mrs. Sinclair's daughter is very pleased with her mom's Taylor Swift makeover.

E.T. is seriously considering coming back to Earth after seeing Mrs. Montgomery hotter than a grown up Drew Barrymore!

Mrs. Priss makes a lovely Amy Adams don't you think? Wonder if she can sing and act like Amy does?

WooHoo, Mrs. Hart watch out you are going to have some "cruisin'" looks with this Katie Holmes do!
ONLY Mrs. Albright can pull off the pink teenage dreams of Katy Perry!
Whoa Mrs. Priss, we are keeping you home sweet home Oklahoma with this legally blonde do- compliments of Reese Witherspoon!

Watch out Project Runway, Mrs. Sinclair knows her stuff way more than Heidi  Klum.

Mrs. Albright's loves the CAMera.
Doesn't she RHOK the Cameron Diaz look?

Mrs. Montgomery will always be your most loyal "friend"- just leave her Brad  Bubba alone.
Isn't that great advice from Jen Aniston?
Have fun housewives changing your makeup, hair, eyes, etc! We would love to see your Hollywood Makeovers. Just leave us a link in the comments! Hope to see you tomorrow night for a fun evening of trivia with The RHOK Stars.
