Super Chick T-Shirt Giveaway

Mrs. Albright told you all on Monday about how I won the "New Chick" contest at Happy First, a local business here in the Tulsa area.
Thank you, Thank you, for such kind words Mrs. A.
But really, The RHOK wouldn't be what it is without such great readers and supporters- and I happen to know that a lot of you voted via Facebook for me in this contest. Thank you!
Here is the story behind my design for the shirt. Yes, I had to submit an essay and a design idea once the name I submitted was chose amongst the top 9.

"Super is an adjective meaning outstanding; exceptionally fine. When paired with the word Chick- an attractive girl, Super Chick of course means that the female wearing the shirt expels the exceptional beauty, confidence and hard work ethic that every woman naturally has. Every woman has an outstanding story to tell. We all have a history and a promising future ahead of us. Super Chick conveys this message to the one wearing the shirt and lets the rest of the world know that she is a SUPER CHICK also!  My vision for this shirt is the Happy First Egg with a Chick wearing a girly cape and of course an "S"! A crown has to be present. Either on the "S" or on the Chick. Then of course the words Super Chick."

As you can see from the design below, my vision was pretty much right on.
The charity I chose for this shirt to benefit is Turn Tulsa Pink. 30% of the proceeds will go toward them until March 31, 2012. You can also purchase the Super Chick shirt and any other design right now at this link with free shipping without using a code.

Ms. Debbie Vinyard, owner of Happy First has graciously given me a couple of extra shirts which seems fitting to only give to one of our awesome readers out there, the other I will be giving away on my own personal blog- which you are more than welcome to enter there also!
(both shirts I have are a size L, I grabbed the largest they come in- if you win and need a smaller size we can get it)

Friday

1st 100 Responders Giveaway

One late night in September of 1984, I couldn't let myself fall asleep. No, if there was any chance I might smell smoke it was my responsibility to get my family to safety. Earlier that evening I had smelled the smoke first. I was in 5th grade when I lost my home and all my belongings in a fire. My family was safe. We lost everything except the clothes on our back, which amounted to a t-shirt and underwear, no time to grab shoes. Neighbors in the community reacted and brought us clothes, we went to school the next day, so Moma and Daddy could begin to pick up the pieces of our life. I fell asleep in class. Mrs. Bates and my classmates didn't wake me.

Several Sundays ago, a member of our church, got up to speak. He spoke about his company, but also how he wanted his job to be a ministry and reach out to other people. A bridge. Typically he works with insurance companies. But, he also wanted to reach out to people who needed help the most, people like you and me. People with homes, children, people who could be in an "IF" situation. His message "spoke" to me.

He introduced a software program called Home Organizer®  that retails for approximately $50 or is free through a M.I.L.K.®  distribution event. The software has three main goals:  Protect, Educate & Organize. Protect with Digital Identification using M.I.L.K®  (Managing Information on Lost Kids), Educate by giving advice from experts and Organize by becoming a virtual filing cabinet.  I actually immediately messaged fellow blogger Beth who goes to church with me who hadn't heard the sermon yet and said hey I think this is something our blog readers need to know about, let me know what you think after church. She agreed. She wrote about it the next day, you can read about it on the blog that she co-writes for called Testify. She has a story that I think a lot of parents can relate to as well.
Now I am telling you my story. A disaster story. I am led to because I can relate to all of the natural disasters that have occurred around our neck of the woods this week. The deadly tornadoes that have wreaked havoc in our own backyard, in our own state and upon our own turnpike. So many neighbors and families have lost everything. I watched my own Mother and Father have to replace our personal belongings, beg for pictures, estimate the contents of home for insurance purposes. I have even begged for pictures myself, wondering if my newborn children resembled myself as a newborn. Can you imagine? I already have information on my disk.

There are just so many uses for this software. Missing pets, parents or grandparents, schedules, reminders, choosing a babysitter, favorite recipes, my children's artwork. All the things that "IF" something were to happen I would definitely want to have a backup of. I really can't wait to use this software to its full potential. I even showed my mother in-law last night and she was very interested.

 And.......

Imagery Concepts, LLC  is giving the first 100 readers to leave a comment on this post and send us their names and mailing addresses a copy of this Home Organizer ® software including the M.I.L.K.® Digital ID  for FREE. This giveaway is not limited to our Oklahoma readers but to all of our readers across the United States! Please phone, tweet, Facebook, email or just tell a friend!

~*~ It's a Little Dragonfly Giveaway! ~*~

When Kristin at The Little Dragonfly asked if I would be interested in hosting a giveaway.
I said, "#duh! #winning!"
Yup - I said it, hashtags and all.

Ok, I know that's old but I just can't help it.
I promise that's my last time to use those phrases.
Today.

I felt like our RHOK readers were the best ones to offer this sweet deal to.  Don't you agree?

Kristin is an OU girl who headed for the big city after graduation. She's now a Texan. Yeehaw! Ten years after living the corporate career dream, she met her husband at an OU/TX alumni party and the rest is history. Oh, and he played football for the Sooners - which is awesome (in case you didn't know). The cute flip flops and monogrammed items Kristin makes are her hobby. Yeah, hobby.

My hobby is Words With Friends. She's making me look bad!

Kristin is giving away a pair of bow flips
and trust me... you want to win.

What are bow flips you ask?
Mrs. Sinclair's girl will proudly demonstrate.
Want a close up?  These are the ones I bought for my niece's birthday.
 Aren't they adorable?
She has all sorts of cute ones.
 And for you anti-bow gals:
You can still get your initial on there.

This is a summer priority, people.
The Little Dragonfly

All you have to do for a chance to win is:
  1. LIKE The Little Dragonfly on Facebook.  One entry.
  2. LIKE The RHOK on our Facebook page and post on our wall.  One entry.
  3. Follow Kristin at The Little Dragonfly website.  One entry.
  4. Follow us on Twitter & announce the giveaway (include our link and @theRHOK) - One entry per day.
  5. Leave a comment.  Right here.  Right now. One entry.
  6. First 5 comments get an extra entry.  See?  I mean RIGHT NOW.
  7. If you say Mrs. Priss is your favorite housewife?  Yeah, 1 more entry.  And thanks.  I love you too. (It's all about me)
  8. #7 was just a joke.  No entry.
It's easy breezy and summertime's a comin'.
As an added bonus, the winner will get free shipping on any additional items ordered.

If you don't win, I still recommend checking out The Little Dragonfly. Last year I gave my niece a pair of her cute flip flops that she wore out.  My sis even thought about buying some for herself.  Obviously, this was a great thing to gift her with again this year.

I hope you win.  I really, really do.

Deadline to enter is April 23rd.
Winner will be announced April 27th.

Good luck!

Keeping New Year's Resolutions for the Winner, Winner Chicken Dinner

So the top 3 new year's resolutions deal with food, faith and family.
You know the drill... I will...eat better, get in touch with my spirituality and spend more time with my family.

As Mrs. Albright pointed out yesterday, many of us have been hungry lil' caterpillars through the holidays and it's time we get our eating under control.
How many of us have kept our resolutions past March?
 Be honest.
I don't make resolutions anymore.
I don't keep them and it just puts me on a guilt cycle to make them each January.

I do take time to reflect on the past year and note where I need to improve, what I can stop and what I can begin doing to improve my life.
Have you kept any New Year's Resolutions?
Share what resolutions have worked for you and why.

One thing I HAVE to do to kick -off 2011 is giveaway
the RHOK necklace from my b-day.
I had a very scientific way to choose the winner.
Here is my documentation...
Step One - Determine Eligible Entries

Remember I said this was scientific. So I want to document my steps. I looked on the blog comments.
I found the names that were eligible, meaning they did not work for, nor a family member of, the RHOK.
I had a crayon in my handbag and chips in the basket before me. A perfect way to document the entries!

Step Two - Choose a Winner
I placed the chips  entries in an empty chip basket. I asked a non-partisan housewife to choose a chip winner.

Step 3 - Determine Winner
Once the winning chip name was chosen from the basket we quickly documented the outcome.

Step 5 - Announce Winner
I am happy to announce that ShellGame has won the awesome RHOK necklace!
Congratulations on winning this scientific name drawing!

Step 6 - Eat Winner Chip

Mrs. Albright was so excited she ate the winning to chip to celebrate!
If you have any questions/concerns about our scientific name drawing please direct any questions to our scientific housewife panel...

Congratulations Shellgame!!!
We are so happy you won the A-dorable RHOK necklace designed by  Sassy Cat Boutique.
All the cool housewives will be wearing RHOK's in 2011 :)

Please no letters on how scientific I am as a giveaway person or I'll send Mrs. Albright to explain!

I know, for some, it's hard to understand.
Hey, just want to be sure it's fair and FUN :)
Lots of Blessings in 2011,
Mrs. Montgomery

Wednesday

Some Call Me a Tease

It was my birthday yesterday. Had such a blast! Lunch with my Girlfriends. Dessert  lunch with my Grandmother and Daddy.

Family time with all the Montgomery's - they gave me cupcakes, homemade cards and gifts. Then they proceeded to quiz me about my age and how OLD I was and what did I do before digital cameras?!
Love my family time. Finished the night off with my Cooking Club girls. Such a fun, happy day!

To celebrate my birthday, I wanted to give YOU, my RHOK friends, a gift! I have a CUTE RHOK necklace for one blessed winner. My friend Sassy Cat Boutique made necklaces for all my RHOK girls. They were so cute, I wanted to share with you.

Here's How to Enter:

  • Head on over to Sassy Cat Boutique and look around at all her cute stuff.
  • Then come back here to post a comment with your favorite thing about me Sassy Cat Boutique.
  • Be sure we have your email or blog address so we can notify you if you win.

It's my birthday so I'm not going to give extra entries for following, linking, tweeting, Facebooking or phoning a friend. However, I will think you are pretty extra special if you follow us RHOK girls at any of those locals, so be sure to let us know. We heart you and are happy to share a little piece of us with you!

All entries must be in by 12a, December 18, 2010. Winners will be notified sometime before 2011. Just Kidding - we will happily post the winner the next week. Go and tell all your Girlfriends about our cute lil' giveaway, just in time for Christmas! If we have tons of entries, we may just add a couple more :)

I am sooo excited to tell you something else happening tomorrow,  but I can't, I've been sworn to RHOK secrecy. I mean I could tell, but then the RHOK would kill me! It's just so good! I really, really want to tell ya. Some call me a tease and I'll just go with that... but before I leave here's one little hint...

Great Girlfriends with a Capital 'G'!

Wordless Wednesday: A RHOK'n Local Giveaway

When local photographer Simply Serena recently contacted The RHOK and wanted to host a giveaway including a photo session with a few RHOK'in kiddos, we jumped at the opportunity! Why? Well, we love seeing our kids in the spotlight. Who doesn't? Especially when they are as pretty as these two. Okay, okay, so we are biased- its our blog, we can be!

Serena's passion for photography began with the love for photographing her four beautiful children.  Capturing their fine details like a wrinkled nose, tender smile, puckered lips, or the kick of a soccer ball all led to the inspiration to share her talent with others.

"I believe my trademark to stand out from the rest, and by this I enjoy getting the real personality of my client while at the same time telling some kind of story…if I can show this, then I believe my work is done!......I also tell people that I don’t pose often and when I do I still encourage natural expressions and moods!!", Serena said.

Our girl's loved their photo session. They felt like true runway models and loved being center of attention. After all, its not every day that they get to dress up in tutu's, get barefooted and roll around in the grass!

One of our RHOK'in readers will get a free session with Simply Serena, along with a 5x7 and 8x10 of their choice.* All you have to do to qualify is be a follower of The Real Housewives of Oklahoma and answer the following question. The lucky winner will be chosen by random.org after midnight on September 28, 2010.

What would you like Simply Serena to capture for you?

Mrs. Sinclair & Mrs. Hart,
mamma's to the 2 cute RHOKstars

*Simply Serena is located in Broken Arrow, OK. Arrangements of time and location of photo shoot will be made between Simply Serena and recipient of giveaway. All transportation costs to and from photo shoot will be provided by recipient of giveaway.

As always, link up with us below & vist 5M4M for more Wordless (or Wordful!) Wednesday!
