We're Beliebers!

Mrs. Montgomery and I sucked it up took our girls to see Justin Bieber last week at the BOK in Tulsa. We met for dinner at El Guapo. Yum!
We then headed over to the BOK to wait in the most ridiculous line EVA! Thankfully our littles were quite entertaining.

Once inside, we immediately ran into to a sweet friend.

One of these is not like the other. Oops!

We were quite happy with our seats. HOWEVER, I'm pretty sure I might be willing to sell my right kidney or pimp out Mrs. Montgomery to get us seats at the stage next time.

Mrs. Montgomery with her girls. (Doesn't she look "pimpable?")
Me with my little one. This girl is a true fan, through and through.
Early in the concert, I posted the following on my FB page:
If that girl thanked me once, she thanked me twenty times. She would literally scream, "I LOVE YOU, JUSTIN BEAVER!" over and over!  LOL! Yes, she still calls him Justin Beaver even though she's seen his movie countless times. At one point, she leaned over and told me she thought she was going to cry because she was so happy. She didn't ask for me to buy anything there, she was just thrilled to be there. I wouldn't trade anything for those moments that night.

My teen and her best friend also were at the concert. They went with her friend's aunt and mom. Her aunt won tickets through a United Way drive at her work. They even got to sit in one of the suites. Before they went, they were so-so fans. After the concert, they were head-over-heels goo-goo-ga-ga over him.
Here are a few of the pictures they took of the evening:

Oh, yes! We do BELIEVE!
Justin is truly and respectably talented. I will admit, it was the BEST concert I've seen and I've seen quite a few in my lifetime. The stage set, the lights, the dancers, EVERYTHING was over-the-top incredible. He played the guitar, the drums, the piano and danced liked no one's business. What an entertainer.
My favorite picture of the night came when I looked over at Camryn and she was singing and making a little heart with her hands. It made me tear up.
Suh-WEET!!!

Were you at the concert? Do you have the Bieber Fever in your house? Are you a hater?

Facebook Fauxpas Part Trois

Recently I have seen some interesting behavior on Facebook.
By "interesting", I mean rude, ridiculous & just down right sad.
Oh before I forget... If you do not know how to pronounce the working title to this post please
see previous Facebook Fauxpas post HERE.
I conducted a very scientific study on Facebook about what annoys people on Facebook.
By "scientific" I mean I posted a status asking to tell me what annoys you & received many responses.

Here are the results:
1. Complainers, Whiners, Eeyores
My sweet father in law is an Eeyore. You know him from Winnie the Pooh. He is famous for being the
lovable, depressed, negative donkey with a cute bow on his tail. If you are not a cute, lovable donkey
with a bow on your tail then you can not pull off negativity & whining.
Facebook is not your personal journal. It is not a place to dump all your complaints, fears, griping or
negativity. Take a look back at your posts this month. Are they upbeat, positive? Ditch the complaints for
cheers.

2. Democrats, Republicans, Independents, Politicos

Remember etiquette applies on social media just as it applies in "real life". Speaking about religion, age  and politics are "no-nos" at parties or on Facebook. People don't want to hear about how you feel about the
current GOP debates or local bond issues. Trust me, I learned this point the hard way.
Whether a donkey, elephant or bunny keep your opinions to yourself.

3. Defriending, Unfriending, Dropping

This is a hot topic. The University of Colorado Denver Business School posted the results of a survey that
revealed the top reasons for unfriending people on Facebook. After surveying 1,500 users on the
social network, the University found the top reasons for unfriending included:
•Frequent, posts promoting yourself.
•Posting about polarizing topics like religion and politics.
•Inappropriate posts, such as crude or racist comments.
The study showed 57 percent of those surveyed unfriended for online reasons, while 27 percent did so for offline behavior.
Do you see yourself in any of those reasons? Check yourself before you get hurt or angry.
If you are going to defriend someone I strongly suggest sending them a message prior to the defriend letting them know your reasons especially if you own a business, have a strong social network or frequently post.
Remember you always have the hide & list functions to control who you see & who sees your posts.

4. Comments, Hijacking, Ignoring

Commenting on a status, pic or link is a huge part of interacting on Facebook. Remember not to hijack your friends posts by leaving a specific comment to someone else. It's rude. It's like jumping in another person's conversation. If you have something to say wait until that conversation is finished & comment directly on the person's page.   If you receive a few comments respond to everyone not just the one person you like most. That is like being in a group & only speaking to one person. So rude.
Keep your language rated 'G' & stay positive. If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all

Here's the deal peeps - common sense & etiquette do not go out the window just because you are on Facebook.
Think before you post a million pics & tag like crazy without asking permission.
Do you really want to know every time someone is at Wal-Mart? No. So don't over use the check-in app.
If you are receiving great comments to a status or pic remember to say thank you.
In the great words of Emily Post - "Manners are a sensitive awareness of the feelings of others. If you have that awareness, you have good manners, no matter what fork you use."

What is your "Facebook Pet Peeve"? Share in the comments for my next Facebook post. LOL.
xoxo ~

Google +

So all our RHOKn' social media peeps are you on Google+ yet?

We are waiting in line for our turn to add our profile. All the RHOK girls are on now so add us to your circles.
What do you think about all the hype around the new social networking site?
Will it surpass Facebook?
Will it dominate the social media world?
For me, the jury's still out. I do see a way to redeem some mistakes with Facebook. I like the "circles" & that it is tied to my Google account/Blog.
I also like the "plus 1" feature. You can use it anywhere on the internet & it will tie back to your profile to read or share at a later time. Reminds me of Pinterest which I heart very much.
The other thing I really like is that commands are just like Blogger & Gmail because it's Google, duh. So you can  do cool things  awesome stuff like strike through text.

Your Google Profile is now the hub of you Plus experience, the backbone that everything else is built upon. There are six tabs in your profile page - posts, about, photos, videos, +1s and Buzz. So be sure you have it set up as you want the world to view you.
Confused?
Here is a good article on 10 Things You Want to Know About Google+
If you are Google+ be sure post your name so we can add ya to our circles!

Hope you are enjoying everything social media this summer! What's your favorite social networking "thing"; blogging, facebooking, tweeting or google+ing?
xo~

BBFF

Do you have a BBFF, Best Blog Friend Forever?
I have a couple of blog girl friends that I just love.
They inspire me to be a better housewife. Seriously.
I have been bloggy friends with them since 2008.
Yep. Who says blogs are just for social media?! We have never met in person and I am believing one day we can all get together!
I want to introduce you to Daph of Flip Flops and Pearls.

She and I share the love of all things monogrammed, family, faith and just a lil' pink 'n green thrown in. Daph is an A-dorable southern housewife. Back in November 2008, Daph sent me a Surcee'. Don't know how to pronounce that word or what the heck it means? Check out all about it here. Until recently, we have kept in touch via Facebook as well. She gave up Facebook. She's always starting new trends.

I would love you to meet Ronel of Mommy Accountability.

Ronel is a Cali housewife. She and I bonded over our trials in life and how God is leading us through each one. We share similar love of books, women's ministry and our family. I "met" Ronel in 2008 and we have grown our blog friendship ever since.

My other blog friend that I have kept in touch with since 2008, Jenn, of Dust Bunny Hostage.

She is a Crimson Tide housewife and keeps it real. She organized a fun Christmas Card exchange in 2008. Loved receiving cards from all my blog friends. Jenn has kool-aid socials at 4p, you have to bring your own tin foil hat, but dust bunnies are optional.

So who are your BBFF's? Tell us all about them and we will give them a big Okie "Hey Ya'll!".

Happy Tuesday,
Mrs. Montgomery

Why My Husband Needs Wife Numero Dos!

My husband needs wife numero dos! No, I'm not serious. Well, maybe six out of seven days a week I am open to this scenario. So lets just talk about it wife to wife, okay?

I don't want to get into any religious debates here. I do think that if there is one husband, there should be only one wife. And we all know polygamy is not legal in the good ole' United States of America. However in I Kings 11:3 from the Bible there is an example of polygamy where the prize for the most wives goes to King Solomon with 700 wives and 300 concubines. He had 1000 women, all possible housewives, at his disposal. With that much help, how in the world did this man lose his job? Perhaps he was overwhelmed by all of those women. It is true that some men are confused by women.  Maybe to alleviate the confusion, maybe I should change the theme to "Why I Need a Wife." But that opens another whole can of worms!

So wives, let's talk...

...I don't hear you.

What? Are we not friends on Facebook, Twitter, or in the blogging world? Do we not have each others digits for texting?

OMGrapeJelly!

I just realized it's 4PM, and I have to get off of the computer, I have two loads of clothes to get done, the boy will be home from school in 20 minutes, the dishes are clean in the dishwasher, the DH, my husband, will be home at 5:30, and he will expect dinner as I did buy groceries today. All I have done today is meet a friend to get hairspray (connections save $), paid for swim lessons for the DD, gave my DD and her bestie a wagon ride to the park for a playdate (gonna be sore tomorrow), and gabbed with my BFF while we watched the girls play. And did I mention worked on a fundraising project for my DS's tackle football team, a football team which doesn't start playing until the Fall.

Shhh...Don't tell anybody, but I'll try to be back after I get everyone to bed.

Did I mention that I made all three of those beds this morning also?

Are you seeing my point?

If my husband had another wife or if I had one,  I could keep her busy with the day-to-day stuff so I could keep up with my social networking like Facebook, Twitter and blogging. We could keep chatting and continue on with ALL of our social networking!!! Those clothes would be done and put into their proper places. The dishes would be unloaded out of the dishwasher, stacked all nice and neat into the cabinets. And dinner? Oh dinner would be served June Cleaver style.

Hmmm...what did King Solomon do with those 1000 women? How in the world did he let those women become his downfall? My guess? He wasn't a HOUSEWIFE and couldn't MASTER them ALL!! So really, if I'm completely honest, it's not my husband who needs another wife - it's me! If I had had all of those women, well let's just say it would have been a different story. For unlike King Solomon, I am a housewife, RAWR, and I could have mastered them all.
t say it would have been a different story. For unlike King Solomon, I am a housewife, RAWR, and I could astered them all.
