2012 Election Day RHOK'd

As a housewife I getting a little teary each time I vote.
I am thankful for the women who came before me & fought
for all women's right to vote.
I saw this pic on a few sites yesterday & thought,
"Now I could vote with these girls".
They would definitely be in the RHOK.
Mrs. Priss voted early {of course}
She was not alone.
Check out this line of over achievers.
All the housewives voted.
We have stickers to prove it.
All the RHOK housewives want to instill the importance
of voting in our children.
I'll let you play "match the child with the housewife".
Whether you voted red or blue we hope you
remember that we are one country INDIVISIBLE.
How did you celebrate Election Day?

Do You Know Your Presidents?

We here at the RHOK are all about educating the public.
That's why you're here, right?

I guess the teacher in me just can't resist the opportunity for a lesson.

Today is Presidents Day and we are going to honor our American Presidents with a little quiz.  See how many you know when you check your answers (in the comments) and tell us how you did. No fibbing!

If any of my facts are wrong, you should know I got all of my information from Little Known Facts.  So if you know more than they do - complain to them, will ya?

1. How many presidents have there been?
2. How many presidents were born British subjects?
3. Which college has the most presidents as alumni?
4. Which religious affiliation is the most common among the presidents?
5. The oldest president inaugurated was Reagan (age 69) and the youngest was Kennedy (age 43) but who was the youngest man to become president?
6. Who were the tallest and shortest presidents?
7. How many presidents first served as vice presidents?
8. How many presidents were assassinated in office?
9. How many presidents are buried in Arlington National Cemetery?
10. Which president is portrayed on both coin and paper currency?

A few other interesting things I learned...

  • George Washington had only one tooth and wore dentures made of human teeth, animal teeth, ivory and lead - but not wood (as rumor has it).  He was also the only president elected unanimously.
  • Abraham Lincoln was the first president to wear a beard.  His wife's brother, half-brothers and brothers-in-law fought on the confederate side.
  • Bill Clinton's nickname as a child was Bubba.
  • Barack Obama does not like ice cream.
And there you have it.  It may not be life-changing but you should feel a little more American just for knowing these things.

Happy Presidents Day!
