Ready for the Return of the Elves?!?

Here at the Sinclair household, there's a countdown that's been going on for a month.

Not for Thanksgiving Break, but for the return of Chuckie. Our elf.

Lately, I've been coerced into sewing tiny soccer jerseys.

This is Isabella pictured- the NOT magic elf, but aka our regular household elf. Our Elf on the Shelf Chuckie (who is still at the North Pole) uses her a lot in his antics, they're friends. Anyway, they'll both have jerseys that match. Just what everyone needs! Elves in soccer jerseys.

By the way, for those with kids who get annoyed or tempted with the magic elf rules, having a non magic elf friend really helps! ;)  I've seen a few of you post about this, and I get it. Having a friend elf really helps with the temptations, and they are also excellent at relaying messages to the magic elves. No, I don't know how it works- it's magic, remember?

So, I'm busy planning, I mean, wondering how Chuckie will make his grand entrance. It's a lot of pressure. Anyone want to share their best ideas?  This is the time ladies & gentlemen!

Remember, only 5 more days until your timelines are bombarded by tricky magic elves.

Elf on the Shelf Names

We elf. Our family loves it. It is something the kids really get into. My oldest has graduated to elf sitter & he helps me with the elf activities. He brings a sense of fun in coming up with elf antics for his brother & sisters.
A few weeks ago my oldest daughter explained to me that our elf, Jingles, had to leave his wife at the N.Pole. Santa sent him to our house to work & she had to stay behind. Oh how she wished Jingles wife could come to our house.
Well we went to Macy's & found Elf on the Shelf half off plus an additional 25% off. {With that deal I should have purchased all they had & made some extra Christmas cash.} So Jingles wife came to visit.
The girl elf is almost identical to the boy elf. She did have white dot earrings. That just wouldn't do for me, she needed a little bling.
Jingles put a ring on it.

The kids were so excited to see her! Jingles wrote a note explaining that she brought reindeer antlers for everyone. Something got lost in translation & they started calling Jingles wife, "Antlers". Antlers?! That is not a name for a cute, blingy, newly married elf. This led to many discussions about her name. She has morphed into, Polkadot Snowflake, or Antlers for short.

Last year I found a vintage elf. He came to help Jingles last year & showed up again this year. His name is cousin Ralph. My husband calls him Uncle Si because he is old & looks a little crazy. Cousin Ralph can't spell. Jingles is always having to help him.

I love seeing all the elf activity on Facebook & Instagram. The names crack me up!
Here are the RHOK elf names:

Mrs. Albright's elves are Fred Jack Tubbington & Tinsel Belle.

Mrs. Southern's elves are Chuck & Glenda.

Mrs. Hart elf is Malia.

My favorite elf name of all time is Enrique. My friend Susan just cracks me up. Here is a crayola portrait of  Enrique drawn by one of her daughters. I was impressed.

Do you elf? If so share your elf names with us. Post a pic on our Facebook page. We love to see your elfing around the house!

Elfing Around the House

Last year was our first year to play along with the frenzy known as Elf on the Shelf. My then four-year-old daughter really got into it. She was better behaved in the month of December than she was all the other 11 months combined. (Yes, I know how that sounds. Don't you judge.) You better believe we were going to continue with this little Elf tradition.
I'd like you to meet Mr. Fred Jack Tubbington...
Fred Jack made his arrival on Sunday and on Monday already had a special little project for my girls. My teen daughter loves the spirit of all things Christmas and is happy to play along to make things fun for her little sister.

Fred Jack's letter to the girls with directions.

Peppermint Hershey Kisses ready to plant in the sugar
Camryn was completely enthralled by all of it. She couldn't stop looking at him for the longest time.

She took the directions very seriously, as all good little girls should.
Here she is "watering" her peppermint Hershey Kisses with kisses.

After all the planting and watering and kissing was finished the girls went to bed. When the awoke the next morning this is what they found...

CANDYCANES

Does your family have an Elf on the Shelf? I'm really bummed they didn't have the girl elf last year because now I'm wanting her! Have you come up with some creative ways for your elf to interact with your kids? We'd love to know. If you've done a blog post about it, leave a link to your post in the comments and we'll be by to check it out. Also, one of our housewives, Mrs. Hart,  hosts an Elf on the Shelf link-up you can participate in.

I wish I could take full credit for this fun candycane project, but I found it where else but, Pinterest!
You can also find ideas on Instagram under the hashtags #elfontheshelf #elfingaroundthehouse .

RHOK'in Elves

Besides cooking, cleaning, carpooling and volunteering, the Real Housewives of Oklahoma do a lot of things similar but each one of us add are own special touch. A tradition that we totally did not plan together is that we all have an Elf on the Shelf. I guess great minds think alike when it comes to keeping the Christmas Spirit bright and fun for all, both young and young at heart.

The first three pictures is Mrs. Albright's Fred Jack. She claims that he can be a lazy elf at times and likes to maintain the same position from day to day. Looks like he is on the move to me.

This sweet guy belongs to Mrs. Montgomery.  His name is Jingles and he likes hot chocolate and sugar cookies. If he forgets to move, the youngest Montgomery child gets the blame placed on her, which is just not right! Oh, and he writes notes to the other Montgomery daughter in red! xoxo

Mrs. Sinclair's Chuckie is quite the ham also! He LOVES his Oklahoma State Cowboys and enjoys his Sunday comics. I wonder what the Sinclair furry friend thought about Chuckie borrowing his pillow? The Sinclair princess also receives notes from Chuckie each day in red ink.
Santa must have a big supply of red pens.

Bells lives with Mrs. Priss. Why oh Why, couldn't she have been blessed with a prissy little female elf instead of another mischievous male? That poor girl is always out numbered. Good thing she is always 4 steps ahead of ALL of them. Really Bells? The ribbon?

And finally my Charley.
If you have been following my personal blog this month you have seen Charley in action daily with all of his antics on the daily Elf On a Shelf Link Up with The 4-Crow's.
Charley has been to a dvd movie premier party with Smurfette, likes to undress anything that wears Razorback apparel in his size and borrow it, has danced with a penguin, hung with monkeys, celebrated birthdays, teaches his kid's lessons in hygiene, and now he is feeding and riding reindeer- there is not much Charley hasn't done! He isn't a troublemaker though, just adventurous.

Do you have an Elf on the Shelf? If so we would love to see what it is doing. Leave us a comment with a link to your blog, we will come visit!
Also, if you would like go link up to The 4-Crow's daily until December 24th.
